Vintage Calvin Klein: how to identify (labels & more)

Learn to identify vintage Calvin Klein! We're compiling a record of vintage brands sold in the shop and documenting their labels and styles. We use historic advertisement materials (e.g., magazines and newspapers) to assist with dating. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you think that something was documented incorrectly!

 

Calvin Klein was founded in 1968, and rose to prominence as a denim manufacturer in the late 1970s to early 1980s.  You can see examples of their labels and styles through the decades, or shop vintage Calvin Klein in the shop, here.

c. 1980s

Women's high-rise medium wash denim pants. These pants have a sewn in tag and are marked "Made in USA".  This pair was new with the original tags, so we also have an example of a Macy's tag from the 80s. 

c. 1990s - early 2000s

Men's linen button down shirt, a part of the higher end Calvin Klein Collection line from Calvin Klein. This line was common in the 90s, and ceased existing in 2017.
